MAY 2012 – Solar Eclipse
The Ojai Mythological Roundtable is pleased to announce its sixth session: The Labyrinth. On Sunday, May 20th at 5:15pm, guest speaker, Kayleen Asbo, cultural historian and professor at Sonoma State University and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, will address the finer values of this historical, mythological, and psychological phenomenon, tracking its influence from Greece to Medieval France.
Throughout the evening we will explore the rarely addressed aspects of sacred geometry, of Plato and Pythagoras and their association with Black Madonnas and, of course, the mysterious and numinous energies that come with the labyrinth.Kayleen has been a guest lecturer on the intersection of history, psychology and the arts at Oxford University, the Assisi Institute of Depth Psychology Conference in Italy, Chartres Cathedral in France, Grace Cathedral, the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, the Institute for Transpersonal Psychology, and other colleges throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.We invite you to an evening of knowns and unknowns, and look forward to losing ourselves in the labyrinth under the auspices of this knowledgeable guide.Sunday: 5:15-7:15 PM (Eclipse from 5:30-7:30)
