Writers’ Journey 25th Anniversary Celebration with Chris Vogler & Michael Wiese Productions

Join Chris Vogler with the Myth Salon & Michael Wiese Productions for a 25th Anniversary Celebration of The Writers’ Journey on October 22nd at 5 PM (PT) organized by Corinne Bordeaux from 360 Degree Communications.

In our previous event with Chris, he discussed the Hero’s Journey in relation to the Covid crisis with a panel of academic mythologists, professional storytellers and film school educators. This time we look forward to honoring his contribution to the timeless conversation about mythmaking. From Athens to Hollywood, from Aristotle’s Poetics to The Hero with a Thousand Faces, by Joseph Campbell, the philosophical engagement of myth has had the attention of storytellers.

In the 25 years that have followed its publication, The Writers’ Journey has become a seminal text across film schools and the narrative industries. Fast forward to 2020, and the empowerment of storytellers has become an imperitive. There are stories that need told! Mythic storytelling–from Lucas to Tolkien–is about studying what made the most powerful stories the most powerful stories… for the purpose of telling powerful stories.

This is a night about getting people together to celebrate the contributions of Chris Vogler. And it’s a chance to take a step back–with mythologists, storytellers and educators–to appreciate the whole conversation.
