Where do characters come from? What are their inspirations?

IT’S A PROCESS: “Creating a character is a process, and until you've done it, until you've experienced it, you're more than likely to stumble around awkwardly like a blind man in a fog complaining about how things aren't where they used to be” (74 Field).

I think I’ve mentioned that Joseph Campbell was a major influence on Indiana Jones and Robert Langdon, but you can be sure, there were definitely other influences. Grail Knights themselves, from Arthurian Legend, were also major influences. And in the case of Indiana Jones, who was introduced to popular culture through the movies, I’m not sure you can separate Harrison Ford from the character. Characters are a mixture of everything from Everywhere.
